10 years ago, water heaters were re-designed to be made fire resistant with  FVIR TECHNOLOGY

Prices have soared, and there are many brands that are still  100% junk. 

 It's wise to buy something that  RARELY NEEDS REPAIRS , is EASY TO FIND  PARTS FOR  and   EASY TO SERVICE .

Even after 10 years, many brands have  "unique -- hard to find -- special order" 

"absolute pain in the neck"  repair parts.

RHEEM   A++  safe, long lasting,  very reliable system... 

simple + easy to service.    

                         forth floor install including water alarm, pump and pan no floor drain available

Richmond and GE  rate a    C

 GE--Home Depots  warranty service can turn into an expensive ....time consuming .... nightmare.

IMHO ..Whirlpool is the worst piece of junk ever made ,  on average they break  down in under 2 years,  please save yourself time, money, and frustration...  cut your losses and run.....

Attempt repairs AT YOUR  OWN RISK!!!    Do-it-your-selfers have broken internal gas lines on this brand so fires - explosions and floods can happen.
