1-14-11    FROZEN PIPES and FLOODS ALL OVER TOWN    call mark at 714-0759

Oh boy,  are we having fun now ............

    ..master plumber mark..

How do I keep my pipes and home  from freezing solid in bitter cold  winter blizzards and ice storms this year???

1.  Keep ALL  of your water faucets running a very small stream on bitter cold days and nights.   This only costs pennies a day and it is much , much cheaper than the damages caused by a burst water pipe.

2.  Go outside and look  around your home for  open vents and crawl space doors ,  and cracks in the foundation...   Seal them off with pink insulation,  blankets or cardboard.

Pile snow up against  the side of your home with a snow shovel...  this will  keep frigid cold air from blowing down through foundation cracks into your crawl space .

yes ......... Mr. Couch Potato

this might require that you do some hard physical work outside in bitter cold temps... :yes::yes:

this needs help         a well insulated crawl space

3.   Their is no easy way to unthaw plastic pex pipes!!!

you  DO NOT want PEX to freeze solid this winter,  because  it  is nearly impossible to unthaw PEX pipes in tight spots and in ceilings.....

you  just have to wait till they finally warm up on their own when the weather gets better and  just hope that they are not broken.

PLEASE  keep all your faucets dripping and avoid  all this trouble... Water is very cheap...

Please,   do not be  a  tight-wad  -- remember to keep ALL  of your faucets running or you could  be paying someone hundreds or perhaps even thousands of dollars to  repair all the water damages....

4.  Learn how to shut off your water in case of a flood..  Mark and tag the  main shut off valve for future emergencies...   educate your  wife and kids  on how to  shut  off the water in case you are not home when a flood happens..

Please shut off  your water when you go on vacation this winter to Florida,  or you might  come home to a pleasent suprise........

--Please call anytime, and our freindly and helpful crew will be more than happy to help you out of a frozen pipe jam this winter......

Bath remodels.

Here are a few  before and after pictures from my own personal project...

Before getting into something like this,  call me anytime for FREE advice first.   My  mobile number is  714-0759

You can see in the demo  pictures,  with the obstacles I discovered in the concrete slab floor,  ( a large heating run +copper water lines running everywhere, ect)   it came  close  to impossible to finish this mission without completely ripping up  the whole bathroom floor and re-routing the hvac and plumbing system .

You never know what  problems ,  difficulties,  and  FUN  surprises you are going to run into in an older home.

Our downstairs bathroom  dated from  - 1964

Originally , on the left side was a  36 inch shower next to a  toilet,   and  on the right  was a full length 6 foot vanity,
